In the event of an incident, safety is a top priority for Lenzing AG. In addition to the internal minimization of further security risks, it is our goal to ensure that the environment is normalized as quickly as possible. For this purpose, we have summarized the following information and recommendations for action.

If a crisis has occurs, the "emergency information" is activated on the Lenzing AG website and you are informed about the emergency services.

+++ Leakage of sulfur dioxide +++

Today at around X: XX, an as yet unknown amount of XXX (sulfur dioxide (SO2) gas) escaped from our XX area and entered the atmosphere.

Please go to closed buildings, warn your relatives immediately and lock all windows and external doors! Do not go to basement rooms! Have wet cloths ready and hold them in front of your mouth and nose if your airways are irritated. Follow the emergency services' loudspeaker announcements and switch on your radios. Radio Upper Austria 93.3 MHz or Ö3 88.8 MHz.
Lenzing AG is working flat out to find a solution in order to keep the possible effects of an incident as low as possible.

You will be informed continuously by Lenzing AG and / or the emergency services as well as immediately when the incident is rectified!

Information channels

The emergency services (police and fire brigade) will inform you about the necessary rules of conduct by means of loudspeaker announcements.

Reports of serious industrial accidents, rules of conduct and the all-clear are countered by means of radio reports on regional radio stations.

Behavior outside

Go to a safe building immediately! Call children into the house immediately so that they are under supervision and do not react incorrectly through ignorance.

Behavior inside a building

Close all windows and doors immediately on all floors, including the basement!

Irritation and impaired breathing can be alleviated by holding wet cloths in front of your mouth and nose!

Behavior during evacuation

  1. Keep Calm.

  2. Follow the instructions of the emergency services.

  3. Complete the building.

Behavior on calls

Please call police, fire brigade or other offices only in case of an emergency.

Pay attention to announcements of the emergency services!

The telephone lines are required for emergency and rescue measures.

Helping others

Passers-by, senior citizens and disabled people who can no longer safely reach their accommodation are allowed into the house.
